Acknowledgement Of Country

We respect First Nations peoples and their enduring connection to country – to the land, air, waterways, oceans, animals and plants – and recognise the wisdom and culture that has seen them thrive for thousands of years. We recognise that sovereignty was never ceded, and, with humility and courage, wholeheartedly commit heads, hearts and hands to a path of healing, restitution and justice, embracing the wisdom of those who can guide us. We will fulfil our responsibility with honesty and integrity, we will challenge injustice, and - in all of this - we will hold ourselves accountable.

Report Launch: Mapping Access to Sexual and Reproductive Health Services in Regional Australia

Event date: October 24, 2024

Sexual & Reproductive Health

Please join Women’s Health and Wellbeing Barwon South West as we launch our report ‘Mapping Access to Sexual and Reproductive Health Services in Regional Victoria’.

In 2024 Women’s Health and Wellbeing Barwon South West engaged Deakin Rural Health and the Centre for Australian Research into Access to map SRH services within the Barwon South West region, and to undertake a literature review to understand SRH service access in a rural context.

The subsequent report outlines facilitators and barriers to accessing SRH services from both patient and provider perspective, along with a snapshot of the service environment in the Barwon South West region. It highlights the significant geographic and systemic barriers that affect rural women’s access to SRH services and can contribute to inequities in health outcomes across the course of a woman’s life.

Please join us to hear from Sarah Wood, Associate Research Fellow, Deakin Rural Health followed by a panel discussion on the barriers and facilitators to accessing SRH services in a rural and regional context.

We look forward to seeing you online.
