Acknowledgement Of Country

We respect First Nations peoples and their enduring connection to country – to the land, air, waterways, oceans, animals and plants – and recognise the wisdom and culture that has seen them thrive for thousands of years. We recognise that sovereignty was never ceded, and, with humility and courage, wholeheartedly commit heads, hearts and hands to a path of healing, restitution and justice, embracing the wisdom of those who can guide us. We will fulfil our responsibility with honesty and integrity, we will challenge injustice, and - in all of this - we will hold ourselves accountable.

Respect 2040 Forum

The annual Respect 2040 Forum brings together partners and supporters from across the Barwon South West to recognise and celebrate the commitment, collaboration and progress made by the partnership. We will explore collaborative and collective prevention initiatives and showcase our work to other organisations and individuals wanting to learn more about the role they can play in progressing gender equality and preventing violence against women in the region.

Who is it for?

This forum is perfect for any organisations or businesses interested in addressing violence against women in the Barwon South West region. All existing Respect 2040 partners and supporters as well as organisations who have an interest in joining the partnership are welcome to attend.

Learning outcomes

New and existing Respect 2040 partners will:

  • plan and implement organisational primary prevention initiatives

  • explore collaborative and collective initiatives

  • build and extend Respect 2040 partner working relationships

  • learn new ways to advance gender equality and prevent violence against women
