Acknowledgement Of Country

We respect First Nations peoples and their enduring connection to country – to the land, air, waterways, oceans, animals and plants – and recognise the wisdom and culture that has seen them thrive for thousands of years. We recognise that sovereignty was never ceded, and, with humility and courage, wholeheartedly commit heads, hearts and hands to a path of healing, restitution and justice, embracing the wisdom of those who can guide us. We will fulfil our responsibility with honesty and integrity, we will challenge injustice, and - in all of this - we will hold ourselves accountable.

About us

Partnerships

WHWBSW are delighted to share that our work to lead and support the Respect 2040 partnership, has been recognised for Outstanding Achievement at the 2024 Australian Charity Awards.

This recognition is testament to the great work being done across the Respect 2040 partnership and our role in community leadership through the partnership.

We are so proud to work with our partners to create a region where people, regardless of gender, are treated with respect and are free from violence.  It’s timely that this award was received during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.

We accept and celebrate this recognition while remaining conscious that we are at the beginning of a long and consistent effort to make change.
