Acknowledgement Of Country

We respect First Nations peoples and their enduring connection to country – to the land, air, waterways, oceans, animals and plants – and recognise the wisdom and culture that has seen them thrive for thousands of years. We recognise that sovereignty was never ceded, and, with humility and courage, wholeheartedly commit heads, hearts and hands to a path of healing, restitution and justice, embracing the wisdom of those who can guide us. We will fulfil our responsibility with honesty and integrity, we will challenge injustice, and - in all of this - we will hold ourselves accountable.

Women's Voices

Empowering diverse women across the Barwon South West to lead, heal, and shape the future of health and wellbeing.

Voices into Action

Our Commitment to Community,
Culture and Change.

Women’s Health and Wellbeing Barwon South West (WHWBSW) stands on the unceded lands of the Gunditjmara, Eastern Marr and Wadawurrung peoples. We are a regional health promotion organisation driven by the belief that listening to women—especially those whose voices are often unheard—is essential to achieving equity, safety, and wellness for all. Our work is rooted in feminist values, community participation, and respect for the wisdom of First Nations women, whose stories and resilience guide our advocacy and action.

Through projects like the Aboriginal Women’s Voices initiative and our Women’s Voices Community Engagement Framework, we centre lived experience as a foundation for systemic change. We engage with local women across age, background and circumstance to amplify their experiences, from navigating the impact of COVID-19 to shaping policy responses. Whether through yarning circles, art workshops or regional surveys, every voice matters—and we are committed to transforming these voices into policy, programs, and practices that drive lasting change.
