eAware: Tech-based Coercive Control
This workshop will enable you to familiarise yourself with Gendered Violence and see how tech can be used in coercive control in a regional and rural context. It will also explore how Community Access Points such as Neighbourhood Houses and Libraries can provide a space for safe tech use, and how these access points can promote tech safety in their communities.

Learning Outcomes

Know what gendered violence is and the ways technology can be used for coercive control

Understand how coercive control can become normalised and its impacts on regional and rural communities

Learn how Community Access points can help communities stay safe from tech-based coercive control
Suitable for all regional and rural Victorian community members, with a focus on providers of community access points (i.e. Community Centres, Neighbourhood Houses, Public Libraries) but open to other community workers (i.e. family violence support service providers)
